Approach
My counselling approach is deeply inundated by Feminist Theory, Social Justice and Liberation, fostering autonomy, self-empowerment, and deconditioning from the constructs and expectations we take for granted in today's troubled society.
I am an integrative, body-based, trauma-informed therapist, and orient myself by the Biopsychosocial and Recovery-Vision Models. I have deep reverence for somatic therapies and tools, including body-scanning, breathwork, experiencing, and Yoga (Certified YTT-240 Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance).
My sessions are built on a rich foundation of presence, empathy, deep listening, and Narrative theory; from there, we collaborate on a flexible flow to follow your rhythm, bringing in exercises and tools to support your natural process, as needed.
I believe that honouring emotions is a cornerstone of wellness, and that when emotions go unprocessed it can open people up to a world of painful experiences, and symptoms that can turn into pathology.
It is my deep privilege to hold space for each individual's journey, to witness and offer an environment of support as they take charge of their healing and brighter future.
